Bring-in Bets
After dealing one face-up and two face-down cards to each player, the player with comparatively lowest face-up card is forced to post the bring-in bet. It is to be understood that the player who has the lowest face-up card will not fold in the first round of betting. Instead the player should post a small amount, for instance, in $2–$4 game it is $1 bring-in bet.
Breaking the Tie
There may be cases where more than one player will have the card of same rank. In those cases, the suit of the face-up card will be used to decide the player who should post the bring-in bet. Though suits are not ranked in most of the poker games, it can be used for breaking ties when there are no better options. From lowest rank to highest, the hierarchy of suits is clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. Consider the case where player 1 and player 2 are having 4♥ and 4♠ respectively; the one with 4♥ must post the bring-in bet as it is the lowest card.
It is possible for the player posting bring-in bet to choose “bring it in” for full bet ($2) rather than smaller bring-in amounts. This will enable them to win more money if they hit the pot.
