Pirates attack a small town in Florida in this issue’s feature article, which takes place in 1668.

Boom! Boom! BOOM!

Pirates Attack Pirates pillaged homes, the hospital, and the church for valuable goods, and killed anyone who got in their way.

A drum sounded, announcing the arrival of a ship. The guards in the watchtower peered out into the sea. Was this the ship bringing the flour they needed so badly? In the fading light, they could see Spanish flags. This was a good sign. A small boat was sent out to meet the ship, whose crew members could be seen waiting for its arrival.

On the boat was the harbor pilot, who would guide the ship into the harbor. Everything appeared to be in order. The people of San Augustin (St. Augustine) relaxed slightly. The village is a military outpost of the Spanish government. more . . .
